If you've never had a chance to check out this video by Portishead, take a second too. Ever since I started listening to trip-hop, I sometimes had a surreal, film-noir inspired setting in mind for the music to live in and it wasn't until a few years later that I realized that the same idea was a huge inspiration to the artists themselves (although Portishead's ST album cover may have lit the spark). Look familiar? They also mixed in a kind of 60s-conspiracy element what with the creepy suit and the haunting main character: a little girl with Beth Gibbon's voice. The video was apparently inspired by a 1968 Italian music show and the TV show The Outer Limits.
