Like A Storm / Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi
I'm not a fan of online bands that do weird montage-y covers of pop songs because I tend to dislike what they end up doing with the song; it's usually just 'ok'. That said, I would like to make a distinction between this group and the ones I mentioned above. Although Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi do make montage videos of them playing the various parts of a song and overlap them and all that, their covers are really well done and very clever (musically speaking). And the DIY aspect of their act comes through their music in an effective way. I think that because they have more or less taken the aforementioned route, that they've been pretty much ignored. Here they've made a great video/recording for their original song "Like A Storm". Featuring a simple structure, nice vocals, and killer live DnB drumming! Take the time to appreciate this (esp. if you live in New England and are also experiencing this crazy weather).

Drop The Other (Scuba's Vulpine Remix) / Emika
The world of electronic music is so heavily dominated by men, I really think it's rare to find a woman who is actually behind the music production and the more there are, the better! It's really disappointing that there aren't more and I really look up to them as a fellow female, electronic musician.
The story of Emika is exactly what I was hoping to find in the world of dubstep. Read it on Last FM. Emika is a sound designer for Native Instruments and produces her own tracks that feature a hands-on approach to electronic music, using field recordings and her own processes. "Drop The Other (Scuba's Vulpine Remix)" is truly haunting. If you liked my post on Burnkane and thought "this would be better if it were more ambient", then this is for you. Dark, ambient, and well done and incredible revision from the infamous Scuba.

Human Meadow / Falty DL
Human Meadow is a refreshing trip through the realm of future garage off of Falty DL's album Love Is A Liability on Planet Mu. Falty DL is NYC based producer, Drew Lustman and is slowly becoming one of my favorite producers on the scene. It's worth buying the mp3 for best quality, but check it out below.

In Heat (Javelin Remix) / HEALTH
This track's from a while back. I really like the chord progression that the synth lays out early on that gets repeated by the bass; it's super catchy! I wish the vocal samples were used differently, but not enough to not consider this a great tune.
HEALTH is an noise rock band consisting of four members including Benjamin Jared Miller, Jake Duzsik, John Famiglietti, and Jupiter Keyes.
Javelin is a hip-hop and electro production duo from Providence, RI.

You Know / Burnkane
Burnkane is not your average Dnb-gone-dubstep producer. Hailing from Scotland, Burnkane spent time in a boathouse studio perfect the art of sound engineering and has created an incredible, new world of audio. Recordings and samples of bowed instruments put through outer-worldly processes create the core of most of his work along with beautiful arrangements. Burnkane has definitely enhanced the world of dub for me.
