People Are Strange (UNKLE Remix) - Stina Nordenstam

Today I found out about this rare little remix from the 1998 album People Are Strange by the incredible Swedish artist Stina Nordenstam. The legendary DJs that have formed UNKLE did well, making sure not to lose the melancholy articulations of "People Are Strange", and in fact did even better in bringing them out.

MT Eden

MT Eden is working on some of the sickest dub remixes I've heard recently. MT Eden is a producer out of New Zealand and from what I can find, has recently emerged on the music scene with a few of his brilliant works making their way around the internet. Check out this amazing remix of "Daniel" by Bat for Lashes. Other artists he's remixed: Burial, Prodigy, Sarah McLachlan, Madonna, Frou Frou, Sigur Rós, and more.

Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans / Uffie

Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans is the newly released full-length album by French rap goddess Uffie. She is a forerunner on the French electro scene, especially since gaining fame for her single "Pop the Glock" since 2006, and is one of Ed Banger's bright stars. She is the ass-kicker Ke$ha only dreams of being. I predict "Our Song" being a great summer anthem. Also worth mentioning is a brilliant remix of "ADD SUV (Feat. Pharrell Williams)" by UK DJ Hudson Mohawke.

Pass Out (Remix) / Tinie Tempah ft. L Raze

Remix of the hit single by Tinie Tempah featuring fellow British rapper L. Raze. There are a ton of remixes and covers out there because everyone realizes that Tempah's flo is pretty weak.. L. Raze really owns it for me in this one.

Body Talk, Pt. 1 / Robyn

Swedish pop legend Robyn dropped her latest album yesterday! The first of a three-part album series, Body Talk, Pt. 1 is fresh cut after fresh cut, a strategy Robyn has kept since her success in the early 90s. As always, she has incorporated the hottest electro-pop sounds out there (including dub/dancehall) while always staying true to her unique style. She is a bad ass, and if you are skeptical, just check out her newest video for "Dancing On My Own" off Body Talk here.

Le Corps Mince de Françoise

As you can tell from their fantastic picture, Le Corps Mince de Françoise (LCMDF) is a totally over-stylized sister duo from Helsinki. (Used to be the trio above, now it's just sisters Emma and Mia.) Despite any major release, LCMDF are picking up a lot of attention from the quirky electro tunes (featuring great vocal parts) they have put out so far. Luckily, their stuff is distinct and I'll be hoping it stays that way as I and their other fans await the aforementioned major release they are working on now.

"Something Golden" is great. The video is ..ok. I recommend listening to it without getting too distracted by the video.

Major Lazer & La Roux Present: Lazerproof

Major Lazer and La Roux have put out a free mixtape featuring Amanda Blank, Rusko, Gucci Mane, and more artists in an electro meets Jamaican collaboration. All of the tracks are going to be a trip to listen to but make sure you download it for at least the last two songs featuring Blank and Rusko. What an awesome start to the summer!
