Dreamland / Cordafonia

The rich orchestral textures in Dreamland from the self-titled album by Cordafonia is truly invigorating to listen to. Trying to find out who Cordafonia is was a fun challenge. The orchestral intricacy of Dreamland made sense when I found out that the name behind it was Adrain Sutton, a British composer who does most of his work writing orchestral scores for films. On some sites, Cordafonia is his stage name and on others he has no stage name at all. Sutton has taken his experience in composing to the electronic realm and has made great use of it, creating fantastic landscapes of sound.

Enjoy listening to Dreamland.

Orenda Fink

Known for her work as the other half of Azure Ray, Orenda Fink has formed several other bands and projects and captured the imagination of listeners with her dark tales of old worlds on her first solo album Invisible Ones. Her recent album, Ask The Night, has taken a lighter, acoustic direction, while her work with O+S (Orenda Fink + Scalpelist of Remy Zero) recaptures her affinity for edgier, rock driven songs.

I Don't Like Your Band / Annie

"I Don't Like Your Band" is my favorite track from Annie's newest album Don't Stop. It has a great opening and stays consistently danceable and includes some really interesting synth layering. A great example of her progression since her previous album Anniemal.

I Get Around (Midnight Juggernauts Remix) / Dragonette

There's much to be appreciated about great pop music and the British/Canadian band Dragonette is doing a good job at turning out some yummy gems. And if that wasn't enticing enough, throw in a bad ass beat and re-work by Midnight Juggernauts.
